Group Coursework – week 3
Instructions

• In Teamwork Assignment 3 – week (3), each group will be required to compile a list of the
governance issues that each member of the group considers to address in the governance review
of his/her company (individual coursework).
• The group report should include:
– A paragraph for each company with a title for each paragraph which includes the name
of the company
– Each paragraph should contain at least 60 words and no more than 100 words (not
included the title of the paragraph)
– The title of the paragraph should try to summarize as far as possible the main issues
addressed
• An example of a paragraph and title is provided below for reference:
IFS: the failure of board leadership
The Board structure at IFS has several problems, including appointment of directors and high
compensation paid to maximise the profit of executives. Internally, the company should improve its
governance culture and creating checks and balances. It is necessary that it complies again with
governance standards, and the board being fully accountable on corporate governance. If so, the
company will restore its reputation
• In order to focus on one or several problems, members of the team should do research on their
company and conduct some literature review. Country-level analysis may help to identify what
can be improved, in some cases.
• Each member of the team should seek feedback from other members of the group on the
governance issues that he/she considers to address in his/her governance review
